About Crop PDF
Crop PDF trims the margins of every page in a PDF. Use it to remove wide white borders from scanned pages, cut off printer marks, or tighten slides so they read better on a phone.
You set how much to trim from the top, right, bottom and left in points (72 points = 1 inch, about 28 points = 1 cm). The same crop is applied to every page, and both the visible area and the page size are changed, so the result prints at the new size.
How to use Crop PDF
- Upload your PDF.
- Enter the amount to remove from each side in points — for example 36 trims half an inch.
- Press Crop and download the trimmed PDF. If you cut too much, run it again on the original with smaller values.
Key features
- Separate values for top, right, bottom and left
- Same crop applied to every page
- Changes the real page size, not just the view
- Clear error if the margins are bigger than the page
When to use Crop PDF
- Removing wide white margins from scanned pages so text is larger on a phone screen.
- Cutting printer crop marks or a scanner's black border off every page.
- Trimming slides exported with extra space around them.
Tips and common problems
- Start small — try 20–30 points per side and increase if needed. 72 points = 1 inch.
- Margins apply to every page, so pages of different sizes can end up cropped unevenly; split them into separate files first.
- Cropping is not redaction. Content outside the crop area may still exist in the file, so never use it to hide confidential data.
Frequently asked questions
PDF points. 72 points equal 1 inch and roughly 28.35 points equal 1 centimetre, so 28 removes about 1 cm.
The crop box and media box are changed so the content outside is no longer shown or printed. It is not a secure redaction — do not rely on cropping to remove confidential information.
This tool crops every page the same way. To crop a single page, extract it first with Extract Pages, crop it, then merge it back.
