About Unlock PDF
Unlock PDF removes the password and restrictions from a PDF you are allowed to open, so you don't have to type the password every time and can print, copy or merge it freely. Typical cases: e-statements from banks, e-tickets and payslips that arrive locked with your date of birth or PAN.
You must enter the correct password — this tool does not guess or crack passwords. For files that open without a password but block printing or copying, leave the password field empty. Files are sent over HTTPS, processed on our server and deleted automatically after you download the result.
How to use Unlock PDF
- Upload the locked PDF.
- Enter its password (leave empty if it opens without one but is restricted).
- Press Unlock and download the unlocked copy.

Tips and common problems

- After unlocking, store the file somewhere secure — it is no longer protected.
Frequently asked questions
No. You need the password to remove an open password. This protects documents that are not yours.
Bank statements often use a combination such as the first letters of your name plus your date of birth; check the email that came with the PDF for the exact format and letter case.
Unlocking your own documents, or ones you are authorised to open, is fine. Do not remove protection from documents you have no right to access.
