Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 October 2026
1. Agreement
These terms apply to your use of FilesSwift (filesswift.com) and all of its tools. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. The service
FilesSwift provides free online tools for converting, editing and inspecting files and data. Some tools run in your browser; others process your file on our server and delete it automatically afterwards, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may add, change or remove tools at any time, and we may set reasonable limits (such as file size or request rate) to keep the service available for everyone.
3. Your files and content
- You keep all rights to the files and text you process. We do not claim any ownership of them.
- You must have the right to process the files you upload. Do not upload content that infringes someone else's copyright or privacy, or that is illegal.
- Only remove passwords or restrictions from documents you own or are authorised to open.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload malware or files designed to harm our systems or other users;
- send automated or bulk requests that overload the service, or try to bypass rate limits;
- attempt to access parts of the service, servers or data that are not meant for you;
- use the service for anything unlawful.
We may block access for anyone who breaks these rules.
5. Results and your responsibility
We work hard to make every tool accurate, but conversions between formats are not always perfect — fonts can be substituted, complex layouts can shift, and lossy formats reduce quality by design. Always check the result before relying on it, and keep your original files. Tools such as Protect PDF, Sign PDF and Excel Password Protect are conveniences, not legal or security advice.
6. Advertising and third-party links
The site is supported by advertising and may link to other websites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites or advertisers.
7. No warranty
FilesSwift is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, FilesSwift is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit or business, arising from your use of the service or from conversion results. Because the service is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
