About Image Resizer
Image Resizer changes an image to the width and height you need in pixels — for passport-photo uploads, job portals, social media profiles, marketplace listings or website thumbnails. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and TIFF images are supported.
Keep the aspect ratio switched on to scale the picture proportionally, so it is never stretched or squashed; switch it off only when you need an exact size and do not mind distortion. Files are sent over HTTPS, processed on our server and deleted automatically after you download the result.
How to use Image Resizer
- Upload your image.
- Enter the new width and/or height in pixels and choose whether to keep the aspect ratio.
- Press Resize and download the result.
Key features
- Exact pixel dimensions
- Optional aspect-ratio lock
- JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and TIFF
- Limits that protect against accidental giant sizes (max 10,000 px per side)
When to use Image Resizer
- Resizing a photo and signature to the exact pixel size an exam or job portal asks for.
- Preparing product images in one consistent size for an online store.
- Shrinking large phone photos before emailing them or adding them to a document.
Tips and common problems
- Crop to the right shape first, then resize — otherwise an exact size can stretch the picture.
- Enter only width (or only height) with the aspect ratio locked to scale proportionally.
- Dimensions are in pixels; DPI does not change the pixel size or the file size.
- After resizing, use Image Compressor if the file must be under a KB limit.
Frequently asked questions
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Making it larger than the original cannot add detail, so it looks softer.
Smaller dimensions reduce file size. To shrink it further without changing the dimensions, use Image Compressor.
Images are limited to 10,000 pixels per side and 50 megapixels, which is far beyond any screen or upload requirement and keeps processing fast and reliable.
