About JSON to TSV
JSON to TSV converts a JSON array of objects into tab-separated values — the format you get when you copy cells from a spreadsheet. Paste the result straight into Excel or Google Sheets and every value lands in its own cell.
Each object becomes a row and each key a column; nested objects are flattened into dot-notation columns such as address.city. Tabs are a safe separator for text that contains commas. Everything runs locally in your browser — the text you paste is never uploaded.
How to use JSON to TSV
- Paste a JSON array (or a single object), upload a file or click Sample.
- Press Convert.
- Copy the TSV and paste it into a spreadsheet, or download it.
Key features
- One row per object, one column per key
- Nested data flattened to dot notation
- Pastes cleanly into Excel and Google Sheets
- Validates the JSON first with clear errors
Example
Each object becomes a row; columns are separated by tabs.
[{"name":"Asha","city":"Surat","marks":91},{"name":"Ravi","city":"Rajkot","marks":84}]name city marks Asha Surat 91 Ravi Rajkot 84
When to use JSON to TSV
- Pasting JSON records into Excel or Google Sheets as columns.
- Preparing data for tools that read tab-separated files.
- Exporting text that contains many commas, where CSV would need lots of quoting.
Tips and common problems
- Paste the result into a spreadsheet cell — the tabs split it into columns automatically.
- Nested objects become dot-notation columns.
- For a .csv file to import elsewhere, use JSON to CSV instead.
